After getting free of work, due to too hot weather (!), we spend half of the “hottest day of the year” just like 200 other people @ Badeschiff! Packed but very Funny.

Lets do this more often! Everyday?! Yay!

WoW!

We did it (again)!

Fuckin happy that we did a killer job, that despite extreme sunshine and torrential rain everything went good, and more than anything: that its over!!!

Of course we really enjoy the whole thing… cool people, great fashion, yummy watermelon juices, BMW shuttle cars, and the whole package but I think that my exhaustion takes over 80% of all that… you come to a point were the bubble of being tired takes you over… but still: you smile, talk/talk/talk and walk the 1.4km of Tempelhof 1000 times a day!

We got some of the best feedbacks ever, both for location, brands participating and logistics…Even WE are still impressed on how cool Tempelhof is for B&B!

Today is the first day, where Im starting to be nervous-exited-goosebumps-butterflies for the upcoming BBB in a Week! A WEEK!

Time is running, we have been (and are still) workin our asses off,  and now its slowly slowly coming to what we think is going to blast them fashionistas all away…Its nice when you work for months and day by day you see what comes out of it… All these stands and little babies that we are taking care of, converting into monsters and killer exhibition places!

Of course like every year there is an Opening, this time Mando Diao playing live…Again, of course, there are many more specials (like Mr. Timberlake attenting to his William Rast booth- in “my” Area!!! hihi)…  Dickies will have a hairdressing barbour shop on their stand- cutting original 40’s look haircuts… I think its a really cool idea… We hair saloons before, but nothing with a real theme… So you know where to go!

Wishing for good weather, for good vibes and for everything to run smoothly… Im really proud of all the ones working for it… Amazing what people can do in such little time… I think most of the people, really have no idea what we all do to make this happen- this is why, this post is a “Big up for BBB” Post!

Really wanna try to go and see the upcoming exhibition of Helmut Newton called “Sumo”.

The photographic book project, was made 10 years ago- a collaboration between Newton, Taschen and Philip Stark… A gigantic book with a print of 10.000 copies, in a 70 x 50cm format, 30kg heavy and all signed by Mr. Newton himself! Therefore, back in the days the exclusivity also matched the price, allowing only the top 10thousands of the Helmut Newton followers to buy a copy…

Now the exhibition will display 394 photographs and the book will be reformated in a more “easy to purchase-and-store in your shelf”  format, again by Taschen..

Mmmhhh! So nice to wake up with this sunshine!

Let this wonderful sunny day begin… whats next?!

Its my second year of *Karneval der Kulturen* in Berlin… this year pretty different to last one though… You get to know new people, you end up living in the street just next to it… its kind of your hood and you are proud of all those coming from far away to rock in it…

Last year it was pretty relaxed, watchin drunk people on huge cars with funny costumes making more a fool of themselves than actually being super-cool… This year it was chillin at Nostitzstr. at a blastin Blockparty! We mingled, having a few caipirinha’s (Michali lovin the Strawberry one) and enjoying the good music… really cool…

After 2 hours the cops came (like on every good party), taking some of the music equipment, determing it to end… pain in the ass…the crowds reaction:

After the defeat, we moved on to Curcuma @ Zossenerstr. where Evan from KINDISCH was playin some good electro-put-your-hands-up kind of tunes… Different kind of people, but still cool (considering we munched on pizza and ice-cream in between)…

An apocalypse Sky and clouds, sent us home in some rainshower (the day before i was completely dripping, you could call me “fountain M³!”) at around 9… fair enough

Today we passed by at the “14th European Cycle Messenger Championship” (?!?!)… NEVER heard of that before! Nerd looking cyclers between real pro’s at Tempelhof airport, having a sort of Mission in the race… Thats all what i understood of it!

After a short (un-pro)bicycle ride in my Specials former hood Tempehof, between all cute looking alone standing houses (felt like being in a different city) we had Melon-Mango-Zabaione-Pistaccio ice-cream at the Urban canal in Xberg… Our man Adam P. couldnt resist in getting friendly with some of his fans (including autographs of course!)…:

Since middle of April T-Mobile has been putting up huge Love messages on the Berliner Fernsehturm at Alexanderplatz!

Together with their Marketing Campaign “Rosenregen”, they have collected messages, that were posted by users online. The “Longest Love Letter Worldwide” will be be filled by 70 love messages and 1 marriage proposal. Super cheesy, I know- but kind of cute at the same time… Would it be dripping of cheese but funny to see your name pop up there?

I bet, if your Mr. or Mrs. Special would be kidnapping you there, with a sweet smile on their face, a yummy kiss, (maybe if wanted some flower or candy stuff… or champagne)  we would be able to resist and admit that we actually love it! Special thing that doesnt happen everyday

It will take around 10 days to put the banners up, and at the end when done on the 25^th April it will still be hanging there for another month…

WOW! What a beautiful sunny weekend!

Waking up with rays coming through my window on saturday morning… then heading to the park with my Special and Michali, after walking around with the LookyLooky Gurls, Miss F. & Miss S. eating expensive Haagen Dasz IceCream like tourists…

Ma gurl Michali made her day by gettin her new bicycle!!! Im happy that she finally made it (and that i dont have to listen to her wanting to get one anymore )

Saturday night, we had Philo & Michali over for dinner… GOOOOD YUMMY Sh*t!

Sweetpotatoe soup and meat filets with goats cheese, pear & gnocci! Damm my man can cook! What could be better!

After a few Moscow Mules & Straberry Homemade Caipiroskas we ended up in playing some “interactive” games as Michal would call em… it took Philo aaages, to guess that he was “Harald Smidt”… We also had “Golum”, “Mother Teresa” and my Bcn Gurl Mika on my forehead!

Today was pure ice*cream and chillin day… Mmmhh***

BREAD & BUTTER is coming HOME!

Berlin Berlin, Bread & Butter, BERLIN!

After long time of silence and mystery… rumours and short nights, we finally had our BBB The Future presentation last night!

Being invited to Berlin Tempelhof, we were all brought to the presentation hall by buses… driving right over the runway with no light! Killer!!!

The presentation was created by BjornTagemose & his team, and presented by Ray Cokes… Mr. Tagemose´s great ideas are usually also used for Chanel Shows and others… great creativity and influences. As a special, The Editors closed the event, giving out some real indie-rock tunes!

The grand surprise of the night, was of course being in the new location, Berlin Tempelhof… we are really exited to be in Berlin and to be at Tempelhof… having loads of new possibilities for new, fresh and sweet ideas.

“BREAD & BUTTER – tradeshow for selected brands” returns back to Berlin in summer 2009. The new location of the internationally leading tradeshow for Street- and Urbanwear is the disused, historical airport Berlin-Tempelhof.

BREAD & BUTTER, BERLIN and TEMPELHOF result in a perfect symbiosis, and great things can be expected. Berlin is BREAD & BUTTER’s hometown.

“The airport Berlin-Tempelhof, “The mother of all airports”, is an architectural jewel, a location of international historic meaning, and is known worldwide. Here, we have the possibility to completely redefine and newly position the “BREAD & BUTTER – tradeshow for selected brands”.
We are very proud to be able to organise the event here in the future”, says Karl-Heinz Müller, Managing Director BREAD & BUTTER.

The date for the upcoming BREAD & BUTTER BERLIN is the 1 – 3 July 2009. This early date signifies the BREAD & BUTTER and is the season’s kick-off for the entire industry.

Contentwise, the BREAD & BUTTER will continue to focus on its core competences Denim, Young Fashion and Sport Lifestyle. In the Urbanwear segment, “Dressed up labels” for Women and Men play a major role. The exhibiting brands will, according to their genre, be presented in newly conceived, stylistically coordinated “neighbourhoods”.

“Our tradeshow has to be built up in exactly the same way as the retail works. To transfer this concept onto a trade show is very ambitious, but in my eyes the right way for the future. I am sure that the industry will follow our thoughts”, says Karl-Heinz Müller.

Apart from that, there will be separate offices built into the buildings for the exhibitors, buyer teams or press representatives, in order to provide them with an ideal business platform in this way.

The actual exhibition space of the Berlin-Tempelhof airport approx. corresponds to that of Barcelona.  With seven hangars, the roofed, open airfield as well as with the departure hall, the BREAD & BUTTER uses the whole building complex.

Karl-Heinz Müller: “ We have made an agreement with the city for ten years – with the option for an extension of further 10 years. With this frame conditions, Berlin is simply the best city for a sustainably successful BREAD & BUTTER as the internationally leading trade show.”

Karl-Heinz Müller concludes: “At this point, I would like to say thank you for the great help and support, which have remarkably facilitated our returning home to Berlin.
