Okay, okay, okay – I know: my blogging game has lacked some serious continuity. But honestly? I didn’t feel like sharing anything in the last couple of months. I have the tendency to write from a very personal point of view. Everything that moves me is personal. And ever since my last few blog posts I had problems finding a balance between the things I wanted to talk about and those things I wanted to remain private. So before running the risk of revealing too much I figured it would make more sense to not write at all.

Alright. That said, I’m happy to announce that muse has hit me again. And I’ll explain to you why: I crashed my car about two weeks ago. One of those really stupid accidents where it’s my fault while it’s not even my fault. Well, I’m totally fine, but I can basically write off my car. I drove a 14 year old VW Polo – investing 950,- in a ride I’ve been thinking to sell for over a year now didn’t make any sense. So I guess the universe made that decision for me: HADNET, IT’S TIME FOR A NEW CAR!!! NOW! Well, I’m getting a new car now. BUT: the process of hooking it up and actually having it delivered will take a while. Until then I’m a “Double-T-Girl” – a “taxi and train girl”. If you knew me, you’d know how difficult that is for me. Not because I don’t like to use public transportation but because I love to drive. Not only is it hard for me to let my old ride go (after all it’s been with me for almost 6 years) but I also used to live in my Polo, bunkering everything in there: food, clothes, shoes – everything. So the new situation will be kinda hard for me. But I decided to make the best out of it by writing about everything that happens to me on the train. I proudly present to you: my “Train Tales”. More to come. I’ll keep you posted!

I should’ve stayed at home. But the problem with Friday nights is that, if I don’t have anywhere to go the next morning to deejay or work in general, I’m so hyped right after my radio show that I just want to go out. The thing with last night though is that I know I should’ve stayed in. I’ve been sort of sick’ish the last couple of days so partying wasn’t necesseraily the best thing to do. I still did it and boooooy did I have fun! We hit the Bar 1000 and Relais. Nice, nice, nice!

Remember in 1994 when Green Day came out? I remember it vividly. I was 14/15 years old when they hit me in my small town Göppingen. Nobody that had anything to do with music or sakteboarding could escape them. “Basket Case” was all over the place. That song became an instant classic making them instant superstars!

So now, 15 years after Dookie and 5 years after America Idiot, I had the chance to meet Green Day and spend one hour with them on TRL. I think, this is the one thing I really love about my job. As fan of music there’s nothing better than to actually be able to meet the people that are responsible for music that means something to you. So getting to know Green Day was a big deal. Just because I remember endless summers where my friends and I would hang out, go to skate parcs to watch the cool boys. “When I Come Around” was playing at every house party we attended and “Basket Case” was the one joint where everybody just lost it! Even little hip-hop-me.

So, just like with Flavor Flav (even though I have to admit that meeting him was a muuuuuuch bigger deal) you always run the risk of being dissappointed. What if they turn out to be total douche bags? F*cking punk rockstars that are full of themselves, arrogant assholes? But just like with Flavor Flav I wasn’t dissappointed but very happy to find out, that Green Day are extremly nice, cool, fun guys. Intelligent, talkative, open, down to earth and just very, very nice, though you absolutely can picture them tearing any hotel room apart! Denen sitzt der Schalk schon im Nacken!

I got prepared and put on green nailpolish for the occasion (remember how I just wanted to put on green nail polish all week last week?).

Go Green

Billy, Mike and Tre stayed an hour and when they left, I was feeling like a 15 year-old-girl again that just met her heroes!

Green Day

The show with Green Day airs on Friday 4.30PM!
